How to choose the right Microblading Artist

Microblading Montreal Rive Sud

"I would love to have my brows microbladed, but where do I go? How do I know this Artist is the right one for me?"

Finding the right Microblading Artist is very much like finding the right Tattoo Artist: you need to find one that "gets" who you are; whom you feel comfortable with; and who clearly knows what they are doing. Obviously, finding an experienced artist is always a good idea, but experienced does not always equal talent, or great customer service.

First things first: Does the artist have before/after pictures of their work? This gives you a significant idea of their style of work. Even in the world of tiny hairstrokes, every Microblading Artist's portfolio is different from one and other. Its super important to find one that suits your own style.

*Of course, we are not in the industry of copy/pasting the same brows to each person. That being said, you can still find a signature touch to each Microblading Artist's work.

Secondly, does the Artist make you feel welcomed and understood. Customer service is another HUGE reason why you would pick one artist over another. Microblading is such a personal service. And lets be frank here: we're semi-permanently tattooing your face! The least you could ask for is someone who makes you feel comfortable, and who wants to understand your needs and #browgoals.

Lastly, can they answer your questions? A qualified Microblading Technician should know they products in-and-out, and be able to answer your 5Ws with ease (Who, What, When, Where & Why). Ei: "What should I expect in terms of healing process?", "What products and colours do you use?", "Am I a good candidate for microblading?", "Why do my brows go super dark, then super light?"... the list can go on! But I think you get the point.

So when it comes time to finding YOUR Artist of choice, take the time to look over this points, and I'm certain you'll find just the right one for you!

  • It sure got my attention when you suggested asking the prospective micro blading artist for pictures of their previous works because that will give me an idea of their style. I’m not sure I understand what you meant by style because I know that microblading artists will just follow their client’s request. For me, as long as they can guarantee that they will grant me the look that I am looking for, I’m okay with any style. Anyway, thank you for sharing. I will still take this into consideration.

    • Hi Tammy,

Yes, previous work (or a portfolio) is a must!

As for style, yes, a good artist should be able to create what the client requests. Also, each artist also has a style that they consider their own (like some like to create super fluffy brows, others prefer creating very clean brows, etc). Thats all I meant by that 😉

      Thanks for your great commment!
